Gummy lollies that are good for you and the kids? Yep! That’s right! Made with real ingredients and free from added nasties and refined sugar. They keep for a few weeks in the fridge and can be packed in your kids school lunch box for a healthy treat, using fresh fruit juice, spices, gut healing gelatin and sweetener of choice. They are lots of fun to make with the kids too 🙂
You can find gelatin in most grocery stores but I prefer to use Great Lakes Gelatin as it is made from free range grass fed cattle. You can include gelatin in your diet with bone broths (see recipe here) but this is a super fun way to change up your family’s gelatin intake and there are so many benefits:
Good for improving the health of your skin & hair
Assists with joint & bone health
Helps heal the gut by strengthening the intestinal lining
Improve sleep when taken in the evening
I love making them for my kids parties and you can make them ahead of time as they last a couple weeks in the fridge. The flavour options are endless, below are our favourites <3

SOUR LEMON GUMMY LOLLIES
Setting Time in Freezer: 30 minutes
Setting Time in Fridge: 2 hours
Sour Gummy Lollies
You will need:
Silicone lego moulds (I found mine on ebay or buy on Amazon)
If you don’t want to use moulds, ice cube trays or a glass dish work well too
3/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice, strained
3-4 tbsp sweetener of choice e.g. honey (buy on iherb or amazon), natvia (buy on amazon), stevia (use as per bottle) or coconut sugar (buy from iherb or amazon, but beware it will make the mixture brown), half honey and half natvia/stevia works well too 🙂
3 tbsp gelatin (I use Great lakes you can buy on iherb or amazon)
Clear some space in the freezer to fit the moulds flat
Place silicone moulds (if using) on a tray (I use a container lid, just to keep it level when transporting)
Place the strained juice in a small saucepan and lightly sprinkle in the gelatin
Allow five minutes for the gelatin to bloom (the liquid will turn gelatinous and lumpy)
Sprinkle the gelatin in the juice and allow to bloom for a few minutes
Bring to low heat and stir until the gelatin granules are dissolved and the mixture is smooth
Add you sweetener of choice, taste the mixture, it should be sweeter than preferred as once set, will lose some of it’s sweetness
Using a spoon, gently pour mixture into moulds, if using lego moulds, you will need at least 4 for this quantity or you can freeze the gummy’s one tray at time, just gently heat the mixture in the saucepan lightly if it starts to set
Place in freezer to set for approximately 30 minutes or fridge for at least 2 hours but best left over night
To remove from mould, gently pull away at the edges first to loosen the gummies up, then push and invert the mould
Store in a sealed container in the fridge
